Tartu Regional Energy Agency

Tartu Regional Energy Agency (TREA) supports implementation of efficient energy methods and practices in the Tartu region and Southern Estonia providing an independent energy advocacy for regional and local stakeholders and playing a strategic role for developing the regional energy agenda. TREA has focused on advancing renewable energy technologies, especially biomass-based, energy efficiency in buildings, drafting sustainable energy action plans (SEAP) and CO2 inventories for local authorities and elaborating feasibility studies on innovative energy solutions.

TREA leads the following activities in BEA-APP:

  • fostering regional development through renewable energy,
  • RES mix in peripheral Southern Estonia, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (DE) and West Pomerania (PL).

TREA implements work-packages of optimising spatial planning instruments and stakeholder approach.
